AKC series held at the Circuit of Todd Road in Melbourne

The Patrizicorse kart racing team representing both the Birel ART and Ricciardo Kart brands went extremely close to taking out the victory in both the major senior classes at the Australian Kart Championship series decider held at the Picturesque Circuit of Todd Road in the Heart of the Melbourne CBD.

Dutch - Australian Marijn Kremers trying to achieve what would be impossible for most by claiming both the X30 and KZ2 Australian Kart championship aboard his Ricciardo Kart finished 2nd in KZ2 (after only competing in 4 of the 5 rounds) and 5th in X30 (entering the final round 16 points in the lead) championships respectively.

Brad Stewart driving his Birel ART machine recorded his best result for the season coming home 6th in the X30 final. Brad has improved as a driver on and off the track immensely throughout the 2016 season and will head into 2017 as a serious title contender. Luca Nici also enjoyed some great speed and results in his AKC Debut, the young West Australian joined the team for the final round and immediately found himself inside the top 10 and Only a material failure ended his final charge whilst inside the top 6 in the final aboard his DR-C28 950mm kart.

The Patrizicorse team however showed great speed throughout 2016 claiming 2nd and 3rd in KZ2 standings with Marijn Kremers (Ricciardo kart) and Chris Hays (Birel ART). Thomas Steele was a brilliant 3rd in the KA1 championship aboard his Ricciardo Kart Chassis benefiting from a stella final Round 2nd place podium in his debut Senior season.

A couple of notable results at the final round were made by Brad Stewart in X30 finishing

In a year that was aimed on setting up for 2017 with a driver line-up that will stay mostly unchanged with the exception of a few exciting inclusions, Patrizicorse showed why they are Australia’s and one of the world’s leading Kart Racing teams. Not only local drivers shared in the experience of driving under the Patrizicorse banner with a total of 6 different countries represented through their drivers. Patrizicorse was also rewarded for the 3rd time in 4 years the prestigious Best presented teams award as voted by the Karter’s themselves.

Patrizicorse now heads to the Race of stars event held between the 14 -16th October at the Pimpama Circuit on the Gold Coast, Patrizicorse will line up with a total of 11 drivers under their Gatel Tents and representing 5 Nations through their Drivers. The Gold Coast race which is apart of the V8 Speed fest hosted by the Supercars Championship is the final Australian event for Patrizicorse in 2016 with the Las Vegas Supernationals in November and the CIK-FIA Asia Pacific Championship in Macau in December still too come.
